Chuseok in Sokcho

Four weeks into our stay in Korea, we get a 5-day holiday. Chuseok is the Korean thanksgiving like holiday. Schools are closed Mon-Wed, so Ian and I decided to take advantage of this super long weekend to go and explore other regions in Korea. We decided to travel eastbound to Sokcho, a city on the coast in the Gangwon province famous for seafood. Seoraksan National Park is located right beside Sokcho as well, which is great as we both enjoy hiking.

We took a 4-hour bus from Incheon to Sokcho on Friday Sept. 28 and stayed in a hostel for 4 nights. The owner of the hostel, Yoo was incredibly nice. He stayed up talking with us for around 25 min the night we arrived about all the stuff there is to do in Sokcho and Seoraksan Park. The hostel was awesome! It was clean, cheap, in a great location and provided complimentary breakfast.
